Severn, the Sailing Club’s historic yacht was put back in the water after her four year £150,000 restoration by David Moss Boatbuilders at Skippool near Blackpool on Thursday 30th May.
Severn was built in Arnside in 1912 by Crossfields at their Beach Walk Boatyard. She was one of ten Rivers Class yachts built by them for the Royal Mersey Yacht Club.
The restoration was funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Garfield Weston Foundation, Headley Trust, Cumbria Community Foundation, Arnside Silverdale Grant, Barnes Trust (Arnside), fundraising and donations.
