Severn our heritage yacht arrives at Arnside

Severn, our historic yacht arrived at Arnside on Saturday 29th August for the first time since her £160,000 restoration. She took 7 hours to sail from her base at Roa Island near Barrow, skippered by Steve Cottam with John Strude and Robin Ashcroft as crew.

Severn Voyage from Roa Island

Severn was built in Arnside by Crossfields in 1912 as one of ten boats for the Royal Mersey Yacht Club. She was acquired by the Sailing Club. Her restoration was supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and other grants.
