Ladies on the Water

We run special ladies only courses at Killington near Sedbergh over four Tuesday mornings. The courses are taught by  a female instructor using a Wayfarere, a stable family boat popular with training centres.

Dates of the courses in 2019 are

Tuesdays June 4, 11, 18,  25 

Tuesdays Sept  17, 24  Oct 1, 8 

The course starts at 10am and finishes at 1pm each day

Price 2019: £120 (Arnside members £110)

Killington Sailing Club is located just over half a hour's drive from Arnside on the other side of the lake from the motorway service station. It has full changing facilities, showers, self catering kitchen and eating area / meeting room. You welcome to bring a snack and stay behind for a chat after sailing

Ladies  who can already sail

Women who are Arnside members and can already sail are welcome to come along too and take out one of Killington's club boats for free. Though safety boat cover will be provided, instruction will not be offered.

Other opportunities to start sailing

You can also take part in our adult / family weekend courses at Killington and midweek sessions for adults at Arnside. There are a number of centres in the Lake District that offer sailing courses, including special courses for ladies. We would be happy to take you out sailing at Arnside at other times. Arnside members are allowed to take part in Killington's Tuesday Evening Improver sessions which take place in Sedbergh School term times. (see their website for details)
